Jaeger-LeCoultre will launch two pieces of new Joaillerie watches with the smallest movements in the world to welcome the Venice Film Festival. On Jaeger-LeCoultre’s official website, there’s a special section that is called “Jaeger-LeCoultre and the Film”, distinctly representing the close relationship between the brand and the film which has been called “The seventh art”.
During the Shanghai International Film Festival that held not long ago, Jaeger-LeCoultre released a special edition of Rendez-Vous to pay tribute to the film art. Recently, the brand announced that two pieces of brand new copy Jaeger-LeCoultre Joaillerie 101 will be launched on the 75th Venice Film Festival which will be hold from August 29th to September 8th.
The movements equipped inside of the models are just the calibre 101, the micro movements that many watch lovers are fond of. Referring to the movement, we will introduce a little history about it. It was born in a century ago. In 1929, Jaeger-LeCoultre developed world’s smallest movement, which was exactly calibre 101, assembled by 101 components and its size was only 14×4.8×3.4mm, while it weighed only 1 gram.
Such a small movement should be more suitable to be equipped on the jewelry watch. So, the Joaillerie 101 was born which could be used both as bracelet or wristwatch. The most famous model must be the Jaeger-LeCoultre Joaillerie imitation with yellow gold case that the current Queen of England worn on Coronation Day in 1953.
The new fake watches with silver opaline dials are both made from rose gold and paved shiny diamonds. The size is 18.35mm × 6.80mm and the bracelets have been engraved with 110 diamonds, all of which have reached the higher standard. The name of the two watches are Joaillerie 101 Reine and Joaillerie 101 Feuille and I think both of them will be launched with a limit amount for the smallest movement is too difficult that only three masters can make it.
